The Horror Again, Now With The Mountain Dew Flavor From Japan Frito Lay
ジャパンフリトレーから、今度はマウンテンデュー味のコーンスナック登場

Some of my friends posts about "Mountain Dew flavored snack" on Facebook recently, and I knew it'd be pretty bad but I really wanted to try at least a piece.
While my husband was in Japan, I asked him to find one for me and he went to many conbinis to find this. 
He finally got a package at Seven Eleven in Shinjuku.
According to some internet site, this was launched end of 2013, which I didn't know till recently.

Last year, July 2013, Japan Frito Lay launched "Coke flavored corn snack" and it was as awful as we expected.
So, for this time, we already imagined it'd be not that good, and then we tried the snack.

On the lid, center top, in red and bold letters, it says "This is a snack."
Did the company think some would think this would be a regular soda?

Also it says this snack gives icy flavor and sparkling texture.

On the side of the cup, there's a description about the snack.

口の中でシュワシュワ弾ける不思議なスナック。

マウンテンデューの味わいが楽しめます。

Translation:

This is a fizzy snacks and it pops in your mouth.

You can enjoy the Mountain Dew flavor.

It's a horrifying description which was almost same as the Coke flavored snack...
I didn't think I'd enjoy this snack, but here it comes.

It actually smelled like Mountain Dew.

This exactly looks like the Coke flavored snack.
Just different scent.

I tried a half piece and I couldn't say a word and gave the rest piece to my husband.
His reaction was pretty much the same but he was laughing as it's pretty awful.
I couldn't even laugh at it. It's really disgusting....
It was like a torture and I couldn't keep this on my tongue to see if it has icy flavor or not, and only I could tell was the fizzy texture.

If I had to say which one would be "better" between this Mountain Dew flavor or the Coke flavor one, I'd choose Mountain Dew, but it doesn't mean that it actually tastes good but it's slightly more edible than coke one.
In any case, it's awful and just another evil snack from Japan Frito Lay.

複数の友達がFacebookにマウンテンデュー味のコーンスナックの写真を投稿していたので、
美味しくないだろうとは分かっていたけれど、日本に出張中だった旦那に探してもらった。
何軒もコンビニを回り、やっとセブンイレブンで売ってるのを見つけてくれたらしい。
ネットによると、2013年末に発売されていたとのこと。
* 「マウンテンデュー」は、レモンライム味の炭酸飲料。

昨年7月、ジャパンフリトレーからコーラ味のコーンスナックが出て、
味は予想通り不味かった。
今回のマウンテンデュー味も期待はせず、
不味いのを前提で食べてみた。

蓋の上には「本品はスナック菓子です。」と赤字・大文字で書いてあり、
「口の中でヒンヤリ、シュワシュワ・・・!!」するらしい。
カップの横には、以下の商品説明が。
口の中でシュワシュワ弾ける不思議なスナック。
マウンテンデューの味わいが楽しめます。

恐い。すでに怖い。
絶対に不味い。不味いに決まっている。

開けてみたところ、香りは飲み慣れた炭酸のマウンテンデューそのもの。
見た目は前回食べたコーラ味スナックと全く同じ形状。

一口食べてシュワシュワ感はあったけれど、不味くて固まった私。
「不味い」と顔で表しながら、食べかけを旦那へ。
旦那は笑いながら「不味いね」と言っていた。
正直、不味すぎてヒンヤリするのか確かめる余裕がなかった。

コーラ味と比べると、どっちがマシかと言われればマウンテンデュー味かも。
いずれにせよ、不味いことに変わりはない。
